On Red and Black Rose: I’ve never been the one to write about beauty bars/ spots/ salons I’ve visited but this one actually impressed me.
Recommended- DIY Home Pedicure
On my way home, I randomly spotted this new building almost adjacent Gravitas store, Off Fola Osibo, Lekki Phase 1. Fast forward to 3 months after, I found myself ringing the bell, waiting to be attended to, at the front door. I stepped in and I knew I’d be back again.
I went past the reception, up the stairs to the salon area and it was cute, clean, decent, the staff were not too chatty and were polite. My intention was to do a mani, pedi and have my hair washed but I ended up texturising and curling my hair in addition to the above.
One thing is that, although the space isn’t so large, it is absolutely gorgeous and clean. My manicurist was so knowledgable about everything I asked her and her recommendations were amazing, it worked perfectly well for my nails and hair. It was an overall amazing experience.
The ever helpful staff gave an insight on how to treat my natural hair, helped treat and did a complete blow out and curled my weave (mane) in big rollers, did a manicure and gel polish, pedicure from the knee down in a rich lather and I got a decent manual exfoliation. A foot msssage followed and I was sold. Every step was careful.
As a bonus, I didn’t have to purchase disposable flats (which is completely useless after a few hours and could be ridiculously pricey, considering it’s purpose) or cuticle remover (a new one was opened).
That might have been embedded in the bill somewhere, though.
Red and Black Rose is next to Mudi Africa, close to the bakery off Hakeem Dickson, Lekki Phase One.
Maureen and Anita made excellent service there. I will be there again.
