Skin Type: Do A Skin Quiz

Skin Type: Do A Skin Quiz

A simple quiz for your skin type:  What Is Your Current Skincare Regimen? Are You Taking Care Of Your Skin The Right Way? What is your skin type?

It is no secret that a really good skincare regimen (no matter how minimal) with a healthy lifestyle is required to slow down the signs of aging on the skin and lead to your actual skin goals.

Recommended: A beautiful skin with the right type of Moisturiser

On the flip side, if you do not know your skin type, you might potentially be using the wrong products on your skin. Sounds like a waste of resources to me.

You have to know your skin type in order to treat it the right way.

How well do you know you skin before creating a regimen?

This is a real easy quiz for you to determine the type of skin you have .

Now you know, what’s the way to start a new regime to maintain/ take care of your skin based on your skin type?

Easy. I promised recommendations, see below (Minimal skin care routine).

Combination Skin – Perfect Daily Regimen

 Morning (AM):

  • Cleanse with Cetaphil/ Biore Cleanser
  • Apply Ancient Orient Rice Enzyme Dermafoliant (Exfoliant) 1-2 times a week
  • Apply a good Toner- Usually Mario Badescu's Aloe Toner or Hadalabo Lotion would make a good choice
  • Apply Vitamin C (Perfect this with an Alpha Hydroxy Acid serum)
  • Apply a moisturizer, Body Butter, lotion or your favourite body oil (Grapeseed/ Jojoba/ Sweet Almond Oil and Rosehip are fantastic)
  • Apply a sunscreen. Neutrogena dry sunscreen at SPF 50 is great or Obagi broad spectrum SPF 50

Night (PM):

  • Cleanse with Cetaphil Cleanser. If you had a day of heavy makeup or facebeat, you will have to double cleanse. (Sweet Almond Oil is good, and so Heimish All Clean Balms (FAVE) before using cleansers (like in the morning). We call this double cleansing.
  • Apply Toner like Thayers Witch Hazel, Klairs Hydrating Toner or Paula’s Choice Skin Balancing Pore Reducing Toner or Son & Parks Beauty Water
  • Apply a good Serum. Usually, a 20% Vitamin C serum or Retinol or Niacinamide (whichever ONE, depending on what you need to achieve).
  • Apply an exfoliant on your skin. Glytone is amazing or Amlactin (high in Lactic Acid) (Do a patch test first) OR you can use your oil, sheet mask or totally skin this step.
  • Apply a moisturizer, Body Butter, Cream or Lotion OR body oils like Grapeseed/ Jojoba/ Sweet Almond Oil

Monthly: Do a Chemical peel. (Apply Glycolic Acid Peel, Lactic or Mandelic). Retinols, including Retin A and exfoliants should be stopped a few days before and after your peel days

  • Use a Vitamin C Serum- OZ Naturals makes an amazing skin brightening and tightening serum. Timeless (20% with Ferulic Acid and Vitamin E), Amara Organics and Obagi makes the top list.
  • Apply Hyaluronic Acid Serum to attract water to the skin and hold it- Hada labo makes a excellent one or a Hydrating mist from Vichy or Herbivore would hydrate the skin enough to allow the moisturiser seal and lock in moisture. LOVE!!!! You can totally use a sheet mask too.
