DIY Rose Water Spray or Face Mist
Face mists and Rose Water Spray are skincare holy grails for me. Apart from the obvious fact that they are the best “pick-me-ups” year round, they are extremely hydrating and refreshing especially with the dry season or if you’re approaching the dry season. You’d be amazed what difference a quick spritz can make.
There are several recipes for a simple DIY face mist which are all refreshing especially if you have tired and dry skin:
- Rose Water
All these DIY face mists are incredibly super easy to make and you can use several ingredients as long as you get the base right.
Water is fantastically refreshing, ironically, drying. This is why I’d recommend whatever essential oil you love and hydrants like sweet almond oil, cucumber or Jojoba.
My go Recipe is really simple. All you’d require as ingredients are:
- Rose Water
- Essential oil
I happen to have combination skin and the areas around my mouth gets really dry. This makes it impossible for me to go through the day without a face mist. My go to product is made by Mario Badescu and it’s always on my dresser and in my bag, ofcourse.
I decided to make one because it’ll take a minute before I receive my next order.
How To Make A Simple Rose Water Spray or Mist
You will need cute little spray bottles
Rose Water would be ready made and bottled up at any beauty store or grocery store. I got mine from Jumia. Make sure it is undiluted and natural. If you prefer to get fresh roses, all good too. Just ensure the petals are well cleaned, water is strained into a sterile glass jar and left to cool after extracting Rose Water at boiling point.
- In a spray bottle, put about 1oz of distilled water.
- Add 3oz of Rose Water to 1oz of distilled water in the same spray bottle
- Add 3 drops of your favourite essential oil. I used Rose Absolute. You can use Lavender too
- Shake properly and spritz away.
All ingredients are natural and anti aging. Water makes it easy to absorb and hydrate the skin while the essential oil is amazing for ensuring the skin doesn’t get dried up. It also leaves the skin moisturised and radiant.
Why choose Rose Water?
Rosewater is just as it sounds, a combination of roses + water. It has enormous benefits for the skin including anti aging properties and it is anti-inflammatory. You also get the hydrating advantages of rose and you already know it smells awesome.
